Paulo Wilhelm Kündig

Paulo has a Bachelor of English Literature degree from University of California at Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor Law degree from Loyola University in Los Angeles, California. In 1985 he immigrated to New Zealand and after taking some additional law papers at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch he was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1986. He has specialised exclusively in New Zealand immigration law and policy since 1986. He has acquired since 1986 a vast amount of experience in handling all types of immigration applications, under all categories as well as in dealing with a huge variety of different immigration problems, situations and issues for clients who are already in New Zealand and for clients who start the process while they are still overseas. Paulo founded Kündig Associates, Immigration Lawyers (the previous name of "The Immigration Law Firm") in 1998 and the business has existed since that time. Prior to 1998 Paulo practised immigration law with a large Christchurch-based law firm. Paulo is a fluent speaker of the Portuguese language and can do consultations and assessments for Portuguese-speaking clients in Portuguese.

In his spare time Paulo enjoys travelling with his family and gardening.


 
Elena Martynova

Elena is originally from Russia but has been in New Zealand since 1999 when she first immigrated. She joined The Immigration Law Firm as an Immigration Law Advocate in mid 2000 and has now developed a tremendous amount of experience in applications under all types of residence and temporary visa categories including Long Term Business Visa and Entrepreneur and Investor categories. In her free time Elena is fond of reading and singing in the Christchurch choir "St Nicholas Singers".



Rochelle Gorman

Rochelle is one of our Immigration Law Advocates. She has been with Paulo and The Immigration Law Firm since 1993 and now has a wide variety of experience in all types of immigration applications. Rochelle's primary areas of specialisation are work visa applications under all work visa categories, Skilled Migrant Category applications, appeals to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal and applications for character or health waivers.

Rochelle is very experienced and knowledgeable in the running of trust account and other accounting aspects and also has full responsibility for the firm's website and other IT matters.

Rochelle enjoys waterskiing, wake boarding and boating with her husband Steve and their two children Abby and Harry.



Youngrim Ji Munnings
Immigration Law Advocate
B.A. Architecture (Seoul)

Young Munnings joined The Immigration Law Firm as an Immigration Law Advocate in October 2008. She is now highly experienced with all types of temporary visa and work visa applications and is our "resident expert" on partnership-based residence applications. Young is a native Korean and now has not only a large number of international clients but also a number of Korean clients. She holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering (Architecture) from Hong Ik University in Seoul, Korea.

Young enjoys being a new mum, gardening and listening to music and reading.  


  
Huibing Jiang
Immigration Law Advocate

B.Sc Biochemistry

Huibing Jiang migrated to New Zealand with family at age of 16, since then Christchurch is home. She is the newbie of The Immigration Law Firm. While saying newbie, she has been in and out of the firm since 2006 to help our Mandarin and Cantonese speaking clients with translation. So she is very familiar with the visa application process. She is now one of our Immigration Law Advocates whilst at the very close stage of completing her Master’s degree in Biochemistry of Lincoln University.

Bing enjoys being a new mum to her baby girl Ella, and loves planning and preparing nourishing and delicious food for the family. Bing also likes skiing, travelling, and gardening.

Maree is essentially the "glue" who holds our firm together and the "oil" that keeps everything running smoothly. She is usually the first point of contact for most clients who are either calling in in person or calling in by phone. She is an expert at extracting information from our clients as to precisely what is the nature of the matter that they would like to discuss with one of our Immigration Law Advocates and she also is our in-house resident accountant, with responsibility for all matters relating to payments, invoices and general bookkeeping. She holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the Waikato Polytechnic in Hamilton. Maree joined The Immigration Law Firm in April of 2005. She is now on a short term duration contract to work for 35 years.



Christian Kündig
B.A. (Hons)

Christian is Paulo and Gail Kündig's son. He completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and Political Science from University of Canterbury in Christchurch in 2012 and joined The Immigration Law Firm in 2013 to begin his training to be an Immigration Law Advocate.

In his spare time, Christian enjoys dancing and socialising with his friends whilst maintaining his eccentric personality.

 



Gail Kündig

Teachers College, Massey University

Gail is married to Paulo Kündig and holds a Diploma of Education from Palmerston North Teachers College in New Zealand. She first began her teaching career in 1981 and she is currently a full-time teacher (as well as working part-time at The Immigration Law Firm) at Chisnallwood Intermediate School, in Christchurch, where she teaches 11 and 12 year old students. Gail has amassed a huge amount of experience with the New Zealand educational system and is therefore an invaluable member of our team in relation to questions about the New Zealand educational system, assistance with the assessment of overseas academic records and placement of overseas students or placement in New Zealand schools of the dependent children of New Zealand temporary visa or resident visa holders.
