Paulo Wilhelm Kündig
Paulo has a Bachelor of English Literature degree from University of California at Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor Law degree from Loyola University in Los Angeles, California. In 1985 he immigrated to New Zealand and after taking some additional law papers at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch he was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1986. He has specialised exclusively in New Zealand immigration law and policy since 1986. He has acquired since 1986 a vast amount of experience in handling all types of immigration applications, under all categories as well as in dealing with a huge variety of different immigration problems, situations and issues for clients who are already in New Zealand and for clients who start the process while they are still overseas. Paulo founded Kündig Associates, Immigration Lawyers (the previous name of "The Immigration Law Firm") in 1998 and the business has existed since that time. Prior to 1998 Paulo practised immigration law with a large Christchurch-based law firm. Paulo is a fluent speaker of the Portuguese language and can do consultations and assessments for Portuguese-speaking clients in Portuguese. He also has a working knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
In his spare time Paulo enjoys travelling with his family and gardening.
Rochelle is one of our Immigration Law Advocates. She has been with Paulo and The Immigration Law Firm since 1993 and now has a wide variety of experience in all types of immigration applications. Rochelle's primary areas of specialisation are work visa applications under all work visa categories, Skilled Migrant Category applications, appeals to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal, Ministerial appeals and applications for character waivers.
Rochelle is very experienced and knowledgeable in the running of trust account and other accounting aspects and also has full responsibility for the firm's website and other IT matters.
Rochelle enjoys wake surfing with her husband Steve and their two teenage children Abby and Harry.
Huibing (“Bing”) Jiang migrated to New Zealand from China with her family at the age of 16 and since then, Christchurch is home. Bing had been in and out of The Immigration Law Firm since 2006 helping Mandarin and Cantonese speaking clients with translating. It was during these meetings that Bing discovered that she really enjoys helping people to stay on in New Zealand. Bing formally joined the team in 2015 and is now one of our Immigration Law Advocates. Bing obtained her Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Lincoln University in 2016.
Bing is also a mother of two children. She loves her family and enjoys planning and preparing nourishing and delicious food for them. Bing also likes gardening, skiing, and travelling.
Maree is one of our Immigration Law Advocates and she also is our in-house resident accountant, with responsibility for all matters relating to payments, invoices and general bookkeeping. She holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the Waikato Polytechnic in Hamilton. Maree joined The Immigration Law Firm in April of 2005. She is now on a short term duration contract to work for 35 years.
